Here is how Diabetes occur;
- You consume food (which contains carbohydrate/glucose/sugar)
- Insulin is supposed to take it from your blood into your body
- Insulin is unable to take it from your blood into your body
- This leaves your blood with high sugar level = DIABETIES TYPE 2
So the inability of insulin to take the food from your blood into your body leaves your blood with high sugar level which results in diabetes.
Diabetes occur as a result of high sugar level in your blood which is caused by the inability of insulin to carry the food you consume from your blood into your body.
WHAT IS INSULIN
Imagine it as a mop that moves (Keep that image in your head – cool?)
So assuming you eat a meal now, the meal will be broken down and glucose released into your blood after a series of processes. Thereafter, insulin will be secreted from the pancreas
The secreted insulin will go into action and mop up the glucose in your blood. It will carry the glucose to parts of your body that needs it.

It occurs for various reasons which may seem unbelievable. Some of these reasons are;
1. Insulin is no longer being produced because it has been overworked over sometime.
This is why it is essential to have a healthy diet and lifestyle.
2. The body organs that need the glucose are not sensitive, so they are not “accepting” the glucose brought to them.
This usually occur in Obese patients. Always maintain a healthy body weight.
3. Genetic composition passed from offspring to offspring. This is as a results of having a family history of Diabetes. If you do, you are at a higher risk of developing it; hence your lifestyle and eating habits need to be healthy.

One of the greatest misconception about diabetes is that it as a result of the consumption of sugar. Diabetes doesn’t occur just because you ate “Sugar”. It is more complicated than that .
Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes have different but similar causes. The causes of diabetes are not alien or specific as bad diet, viral bacterial infections and unhealthy food with chemical toxin can lead to diabetes.

STEP 1 : A healthy diet – Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is great and a healthy diet is greater. Eating consciously with the right knowledge of what, how and when to consume any food is important. One of the triggers for diabetes is chemical toxins in food. These toxins can alter the functionality of the body system making insulin production low or restricting the removal of excess sugar (glucose) from the blood.
